Before & After
Sunny Bedroom
This bedroom is pictured in the midst of its refresh. All areas were addressed (and many items were later moved off of the open surfaces). The client worked to sort through items which needed to find homes.
Wardrobe
This small wardrobe was hiding many items. We pulled everything out, organized items with bins and hangers, making the clothing much easier to find. The bonus was the new makeup area which can be hidden behind closed doors, keeping the items clean and dust free (after having been out on an open surface).
Laundry Room
These clients needed their laundry to function again as it should— as a laundry room, not a place to store things which didn’t have homes. We went through the cabinets and the counter, locating duplicates and sorting items. Thrilled to have recovered the large countertop- they are now using the room for its intended purpose— to fold clothing.
Utility Closet
Typical of many clients, this utility closet was packed. Hard to access tools, some of which were no longer functional, needed a clear out. We utilized the vertical space to hang items improving access and making the closet easier to clean.
Entry Desk
This entry desk had been turned into a dumping ground for cords, papers, receipts— you name it! We cleared the surface and created homes for these “to do” items so that the desk can be actually be used- and the files and bulletin board can act as a repository for important house information.
Bedroom Storage
The client’s extra bedroom had turned into unmanageable storage. I worked to declutter and sort all items so they could be located and of use.
Coat Closet
As is often the case, this entry closet had become a dumping ground for shoes, clothing, bags and more. Clearing out the contents (and removing the extra shelving) allowed a refresh and meant that the space can serve its purpose. The family can both find their coats and boots— and, just as importantly, put these things away when they come home.
Bathroom
This tiny bathroom needed a clear out. My client and I worked together to pare down excess items and find small storage solutions, giving her a greater sense of calm, as well as the capacity to maintain and clean the space.
Tiny Bedroom
This tiny bedroom had turned into an inaccessible storage area in a small apartment. We emptied the space and found homes for the items; more importantly, we recovered a small bedroom in a NYC apartment.
Medicine/Toiletry Closet
This closet was teeming with supplies that needed to be sorted. Expired items were tossed and remaining items were sorted into like categories, making the space functional and calm.
Storage Shed
This space was overflowing; the homeowners and contractors couldn’t find what they needed, leading to duplicate purchases. I sorted and labelled all items so it can serve its purpose as a storage shed.
Community Closet
It’s hard to tell from the first photo but this is the “clothing closet” at a community food pantry and shelter. Over the years the donations had become so excessive that the space had turned into a wall of plastic bags, making all of the clothing inaccessible. I worked to clear out the excess and make the remaining items accessible to clients in need.
